International cricket will not be held in Delhi for next two years!
BCCI's rotation policy might work that could not complain about the polluted air of the Sri Lankan team and it is to keep away international cricket from Delhi by at least 2020.
Sri Lankan players had complained about the problem of breathing due to the mist in the ongoing third test against India here, which they had wear wearing masks and started questioning them as international sports venues on Delhi.
According to the agency, a senior BCCI official said, "The BCCI is trying for the exclusional home season from February-March each year. They will get this time in February-March 2020 according to the new Future Tours Program. Therefore, Kotla may or may not be in the line for organizing a Test match before 2020. "
He said, "According to the rotation policy, Kotla has now got his Test match and in November he got a T20. Their chance will not come until next year, probably for India, then there will be a full series. Other places are also waiting for their chance. Similarly, in 2019, when the new future touring program starts, Kotla will take some time to get another match.
In addition to Sri Lanka's complaint, there was a furore during the Delhi Half Marathon last month even though it was held despite the high level of pollution, but the Indian Therapeutic Union had appealed to cancel it. The second day's game of the current cricket match was stopped for 26 minutes as Sri Lankan players complained of breathlessness, due to which Indian captain Virat Kohli was forced to declare an innings on 536 runs for seven wickets.
Indian pace spear Mohammad Shami, however, said that he is addicted to this kind of weather and not want to make it a big issue. BCCI's acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary admitted in the press conference yesterday that this year's discussion will be held in New Delhi for the conduct of a Test match.
However, another BCCI official said that Kotla has got matches of his quota now, which the board will feel relieved for some time. The official said, "Now, how will the situation of environment in 2020, its prediction can not be done in 2017 now. So if Kotla does not get a match, then it will be entirely according to the rotation policy. '
